Rapid? boot
I reinstalled just about everything this morning and thought: Hey let's try what rapid boot can do for you.
So I timed the start-up w/o rapid boot installed:
30 seconds till welcome screen
43 seconds till desktop
And the timings with rapid boot installed:
30 seconds till welcome screen
43 seconds till desktop
Now, is it just me, or is there no difference between these timings? A friend said that maybe the fact that I already have a SSD installed means that rapid boot can't accelerate anything. What do you think?
How does this tool even work? I mean: what does it do to achieve a faster boot process?
Who of you has rapid boot installed AND noticed an improvement?

Re: Rapid? boot
What laptop and OS are you using? I'm getting 10 seconds till welcome screen and 15 seconds till desktop on my X220 with a slow Intel SSD and stock Windows 7 x64 Pro (with Lenovo EE 2.0), your timings seem to be too high.
Lifebook P1032 (1024*600 8.9") => Averatec AV1000 (WXGA 10.6") => Kohjinsha SH6 (1024*600 7.2") => Sharp M4000 (WXGA 13.3") => X200-AFFS, dead => X200s-AFFS, later -PVA => X220 4290RV5 + Intel 310 80GB, T420s 4173KSU + FHD IPS + Sandisk Z400s 128GB

I will try to get EE, and report back.

Isn't rapidboot only available on EE2.0?Lucky#Slevin wrote: I am using the X220 tablet and Win 7 x64 Pro (not stock and w/o Lenovo EE 2.0).

Re: Rapid? boot
Well, I know that I could download it from Lenovo and install it on my vanilla Windows 7 installation, though - as said above - it didn't improve anything.
Now I have the original OS configured by Lenovo installed on my SSD, but the start-up time is still about 30 seconds.
My Control Panel says that rapid boot is installed.
Where is my problem?
