T43p Cooling?

#1 Post by RWDPLZ » Thu Aug 18, 2011 2:40 pm

First of all, IT'S ALIVE!!! ALIVE!!! MWA-HAHAHAHAAAAHHHH!!!!

(had to replace fuse on motherboard, computer was DOA)

Got it running and while I had it apart, I noticed the heat sink for the CPU and GPU looked pretty heat fried. The squishy pad that goes on the GPU, isn't squishy anymore, and the fan is relatively loud compared to the dozen or so Thinkpads I've had in the past.

Is there a better fan assembly for the computer, or a better method of cooling either component? Known upgrades? It's a 14" T43p, RAM is maxed out, and just bought an upgraded processor to put in it too, the 2.13Ghz from it's 1.86 that came with it. Just waiting for the hard drive to come in...
