I have a brand new T420 Thinkpad Series Laptop, I have been looking to find reviews on the ThinkPad Battery 27++ (9cell) Slice Battery. From what I've read their are lots of complaints and its not working the way it should. All the reviews ive found complain their pc randomly shuts off, doesnt give the battery life it advertises. Does anyone have this accessory? and can they confirm if its just stupid people who dont know what they are doing, or if its legitimate complaints? I know lenovo normally makes incredible products but I want to know if this accessory will do what it says or if it works proper with their laptops as they advertise.

They forget to lock it. That's the problem. It's not enough that you put the laptop on top of it and it clicks -- there is a slider with a lock symbol on it on the bottom. If you slide that (after a few tries you can do it blind) then all is well.

what kind of battery life do you get with your slice and 6 cell or 9 cell? Is it what they advertise? do you ever have your laptop randomly shut off when the battery is locked in?
