Using Lenovo Recovery Partition on T520

#1 Post by hdblair » Fri Aug 19, 2011 10:27 am

Hi All: New user to T520 here. How does one use the Lenovo Recovery Partition? When initially removing blotware, I removed the trial versions of MS Office. I would now like to use them w/o downloading from MS. Is there a way to get them off the recovery partition? Thanks,
Harold

They used to offer a custom install option in the T61, R61 and X61 era, which seems like a great idea, but for some reason they dropped it. Perhaps it was too expensive to support, but there's no way to remove MS from the factory install. What I like to do is to do a clean install of a machine with latest drivers and updates, then clone the drive with imaging software. I use True Image myself. Then I can put the image back at any time and just make any updates I want.

Fred: Thanks for the reply. However, I do not want to delete the MS from the factory install, I want to retrieve it if it is still on the recovery partition. I removed it initially from the C: drive when I initially got the computer.
