X220 i5
X220 i5
I just purchased a new X220 from the Lenovo Outlet. Man, they go quick on there. I was just trying to decide which one to get and folks were buying them up. I got the X220 i5, 320-7200rpm, BT, no FPrint. Decent setup for 786$.
My only gripe with the machine is the lack of HDMI for occasional movies and pics.
I had a T61 a few years back and i could upgrade just about everything on that machine. I was hoping the X220 was no different because i want to install a FingerPrint palm rest. My machine does not have it, could some tell me what i need parts wise and maybe where to get it.
Thanks,

Re: X220 i5
It should work fine with HDMI if you get a cheap DisplayPort - HDMI cable.
I use one with my W500. Should work on an X220. They seem to be a little tougher to find these days - but google.

All of the part numbers are listed in the Hardware Maintenance Manual, which you can download via Lenovo's web site.

They sure do go fast. I just snagged an X220 i5 with 128GB SSD, BT, no FP, 9 cell and IPS display (no camera) for $840illini71 wrote:I just purchased a new X220 from the Lenovo Outlet. Yes they do, however i returned mine. I found one on ebay for 775 with the i5 2.5, ips, fp reader, 9 cell, 4 gig ram. It's a much better machine than the one i ordered at the outlet. How did you get a ssd for so cheap. Is it a used machine, refurbished. Thats pretty [censored] cheap.

Nope, new. I was online checking at 5:00 AM 9/1/11 and guess they just posted the machines. It was like $935 ot so, but when I checked out the price was $840 with their current sale.illini71 wrote:Yes they do, however i returned mine.
