T61 fan assembly compatibility between WS and non-WS?

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could help me. I tried searching for the appropriate keywords but couldn't find a definitive answer.

Are the heatsink/fan assemblies from the 4:3 and 16:10 T61 interchangeable? I am trying to build a 'FrankenPad' with a 4:3 T61 motherboard into a 4:3 T60 casing (15", I have the 'interposer' card). I read that I need the T61 HSF as well. The HMM states that I would need 42W2821 (I plan on getting the Intel GPU board). However, on a local forum someone is selling the HSF from a 16:10 T61 (I imagine it's either 42W2460 or 42W2462). Will this be suitable for my purposes?

If you take a look at this ebay add showing close-up images of the 42W2460/42W2461 and compare it against this ebay add showing close-up images of the 42W2821 (select "Enlarge") these fans seems quite different to me...

Did you check the fan recommendations in the thread Parts for the ultimate 15” T60 UXGA FlexView w/T61(p) mobo? (and the links referenced to therein)?

Thank you for your help! The photographic evidence seems fairly clear that they aren't interchangeable
Thanks for the link to that thread, I have studied it carefully already. I already have the T60 with a QXGA screen, so I'm halfway to the 'ultimate frankenpad'
