I will lose the sound on the internal speakers. I was running fine today until I went to HULU. I am running Windows 7 SP1 X64 and IE9 32bit on a T510 with integrated graphics. I think I had Lenovo's latest version of the graphics driver but not Lenovo's latest version of Conextant Smart Audio driver.
When this happens I have done Restore to Factory settings and have been able to get the external speakers back. I have done about 4 of them in the last month. This weekend I will try again. Since I have been able to regain the sound I think it is a software problem but I am not sure. The machine is still under warranty.
Forgot to add that I have taken Windows Image Backups and a Windows Image Restore from an Image taken last Sunday didn't fix the problem. This makes it seem like a hardware problem.

Re: T510 trouble with internal speakers
I'd never heard of HULU so I looked it up. It appears to be an internet TV site in the USA. Perhaps you contracted a virus? Do a full check in safe mode and let us know the results.

Re: T510 trouble with internal speakers
I decided to do another restore to factory. That didn't fix the speaker problem BUT the first set of updates from Microsoft Update after the base Windows 7 Pro X64 had something that brought back the speaker. I will have to check the support data for those fixes.
HULU is a well known streaming site. I don't think I caught a virus. Certainly Security Essentials didn't catch one. HULU does use Adobe Flash so I will check that Adobe Flash is current.
Now I need to bring the Lenovo stuff up to date.

Re: T510 trouble with internal speakers
Adobe Flash causes the loss of the internal speakers' sound. I don't know exactly what fixed the problem tho.
Help - I can't be the only one that has had this problem.
FIXED
Flash problems with Intel HD graphics and IE9 seemingly fixed by latest Flash
