IBM current parts special: TP 600 series Li-Ion; anyone try?

#1 Post by findrivr » Mon Apr 04, 2005 12:47 am

Hi TP fans,
I was browsing around the IBM site and came across "Clearance Corner" link on the right border of their regular products page.

http://www-132.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/store ... lCurrId=73

IBM is closing out their inventory of TP 600* LiIon batteries. They're marked down from $99 to $59- are these worth the trouble?

Has anyone recently replaced their old original 600* battery w/new IBM original[such as this]?
Have you had good results with this item?

I had heard somewhere that this battery has a problematic track record??

Thanks,
Patrick

1) Yes

2) Yes

3) Dunno about this one, but every 600 battery I've ever had has been here today, gone tomorrow.

I've had two 600E's and two 600X's. They are all still in my family.

All the batteries die, as all laptop batteries do. I've had several IBM brand and a few no-name batteries and they all behave the same.

And they've all given me about two full years of service.
