DisplayPort to Single-Link DVI-D Monitor Cable?

#1 Post by zern » Sun Aug 28, 2011 9:56 am

Should I get one of these - DisplayPort to Single-Link DVI-D Monitor Cable (max res of the output is 1920x1200) - with my X220 order, or use some other method to hook up a DVI monitor?

The res limit is acceptable for the the moment.

Is this a limit set by this particular cable design, or with this sort of cables in general?

If I want a higher rest output in the future, do I have to go with a dock?

Thanks!

the adapters lenovo sells are 'passive' and as a result, would max out at or below 1920x1200(I don't remember the exact max resolution).

To go higher, you'll need to buy an 'active' or 'powered' adapter.
