When I received my laptop, it came in BOTH/LEGACY mode (Legacy First). If I reinstall the OS, would it be advantageous to set the BIOS to UEFI-ONLY?
I tried booting with the BIOS set to UEFI-ONLY on the factory install but it would never boot. the only way I could get it to boot was by returning the BIOS to Legacy-first mode.
I don't want to run into any problems. But if reinstalling under UEFI-ONLY will give me a performance advantageous I'm interested in exploring the option. Anybody have any experience with this and have suggestions, recommendations or advice?
Reinstalling OS with BIOS set to UEFI-Only a good idea?

You will need USB stick with Windows 7 (UEFI mode is compatible only with 64bit system - if I remember well )
1. USB stick must be formatted as a FAT32 drive.
2. Install Windows 7 on USB stick e.g. INSTRUCTION
3. On the USB stick, go into the \efi\microsoft folder and copy the boot folder into the \efi folder
4. Go into an existing install of Windows 7 and copy the bootmgfw.efi file out of c:\Windows\Boot\EFI\ into the USB stick \efi\boot folder and rename it to BOOTx64.EFI
5. Change BIOS settings to UEFI mode and run computer from USB
IMPORTANT - You can't install Windows from USB 3.0 port
