no sound on t61p

Hi,

The audio just stopped working 2 days ago.

Reinstalled sound drivers from lenovo, did all routine troubleshooting, Nothing !!!

I expect to see some error information in event viewer..nothing shows up there, which is even more boggling.
dxdiag shows all working perfectly.
i did notice one thing double clicking on the sound icon, shows spdif interface, windows sounds, spdif interface properties, something seems to be missing.



This is a t61p 6459-cto(t9300 with 4 gb mem)
