Hi all,
I want to replace my XGA screen with a SXGA.
I've ordered an samsung screen and I've got an sharp (lq141f1lh52) from a DELL D600.
I've read on this forum that is not safe to use other brands except the Samsung and another one if I dont want to burn the video controler.
There are also some topics where it was used Quanta display and some controler was burned.
But I've also read a post where it was done a change of a UXGA display (from DELL) to a T43.
Now the question is should I try to do the replacement?
I've understood that DELL supplyers use the pin 1 &2 as ground, and IBM supplyers use 1 GND and 2 Power.
If I will cut the pin 2 of the LCD cable it will work? Did someone tried?
Thanks

The Samsung LTN141P4-L02 (P/N 11P8347 or 93P5570) works on a T4x/R5x.
The Samsung LTN141P4-L01 that comes from a Dell (D500/D600/D610 etc.) does NOT work, which makes me suspect that this ex-Dell Sharp LCD will probably not work either.
I have never heard of anyone with an IBM/Lenovo machine that a Sharp LCD works in their Thinkpad.
You're on your own here...

Read that post again VERY carefully.
They used an UXGA LCD there, not an SXGA+.
Any experiments with non-IBM LCDs are taken at your own risk.
Also, if your T43 has Intel graphics, it can ONLY take XGA screens!
