Booting from CD

#1 Post by taichi » Mon Sep 12, 2011 10:06 pm

Is there a simple way..e.g. a key held down during bootup...that will boot a T60p from a CD? Or is it necessary to go into BIOS and change boot priority? If the latter, do I just go back into BIOS to reset it to boot from HD?

Thanks

Press F12 on boot, choose the media drive as the temporary boot device, hit "enter" and off you go...

If you often need to boot from a CD, there is no harm in just putting the CD drive ahead of the HDD in the BIOS, and leave it that way. It doesn't take long for the BIOS to skip over the optical drive when it finds no boot inf, and go on to the HDD. That is the way I like mine set up, so I can boot either the hard drive or a CD, without having to press any keys.
