tp770 screen swap

#1 Post by mnowell69 » Tue Sep 13, 2011 2:21 pm

Is it possible to put the entire screen assembly of a 770 onto a 770E ? I would rather try this, than have to buy an inverter for the 770E.

If I recall correctly the 770 has a flat front plastic while the other models have a curved front. They should still be interchangable.

with a flat front, do you mean the screen bezel, or the main body housing where the speakers etc, are held. I believe all the 770 family have the same size(shape) bodies, and only the screen and bezel are different.

Have been disappointed to find that i can't install the sxga screen from my 770x onto my 770ED. Now i have a 770x that has a dead motherboard with that i can't do anything with. Unless ,of course, i replace the motherboard at a cost 4 times what i paid for the computer.

SXGA is for the 770x and 770z only (last 2 of the line). Keep the screen and maybe you will find another 770 to use it with in the future.
