Presentation Director changes windows size
Presentation Director changes windows size
I use the Presentation Director to switch displays, namely - ThinkPad (t41p) 1400x1050 LCD, External DVI 1600x1200 flat panel and an external 1024x768 analog projector.
The problem is that whenever the presentation director is used to change a display scheme, it "fixes" windows position and sizes, according to the new resolution.
This can be seen in the registry - where Presentation Director saves windows attributes:
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IBM\NPdirect\Data\Common\Desktop Windows"
I would like to disable this feature, as sometimes it is very annoying.. For example, when window resize changes its internal layout, or just because I would like a small window to stay at the same size, and not change just because the resolution changed.
Alternatively, is there a way to change display schemes without using the Presentation Director? I tried to use ATI tray applet but it doesn't work so well. For example, it doesn't support switching between External DVI and laptop LCD.
Thanks a lot,
A

I found a possible workaround
Use the Presentation Director only to switch output displays, define all Presentation Directory schemes to use the same resolution. This way it won't mess with windows size.
Then use ATI tray applet to switch resolution.
A bit clumsy, but it works..
