T60 new screen runs in 640x480 and has blue tint

#1 Post by Ratatata » Fri Sep 16, 2011 10:54 am

Hi,
I have just finished installing a new 14.1 SXGA+ screen and it runs only in 640x480 resolution with blueish tint.
Windows display properties says that I'm running in 1024x768, but that is complete BS, this issue is present both in BIOS and operating system. At least one other person has had the same issue, but there were no responses. External monitor works without issues.

New screen is LTN141P4-L03 (ThinkWiki says that LTN141P4-L02 is supported by T60).

Any suggestions what should I do?
Thanks

My guess would be that your screen was not built for the T60 and does not have the proper EDID chip in it.
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E

Thanks, Neil. You were indeed correct, it had EDID chip in it, but contained only data FF.
I have successfully managed to rewrite it with PonyProg and LPT interface using .raw (for some reason .hex did not work) file from my old screen acquired by Phoenix EDID Designer and now the new screen works like a charm.
