Hi,
I have T60p, and I can boot with it. But when I enter BIOS it asks password, that I don't know. I still can enter BIOS with pressing only enter, but some of the functionality is disabled, like password, security chip etc.
Is there some password for it or is it only the enter? And can I remove it or enable BIOS full funtionality?
T60p Bios password?

Re: T60p Bios password?
The BIOS has an option where you can view the settings, but not change anything, when a supervisor (BIOS) password has been set. This is what happens when you simply press the Enter key without providing any password. In order to gain full control, you must supply the correct password. It can then been removed. Do not attempt to remove the password by taking out the backup (CMOS) battery. If you do this, your system will no longer boot. More precisely, the system will turn on but it will always prompt for the password. It will not boot any drive until you give it what it wants.
If you bought the system used, about the only advice I can give is to contact the previous owner and ask what the password is. The factory recommendation is to replace the motherboard when faced with an unknown BIOS password. This is all that the forum can supply without violating the rules that have been put in place concerning discussions on hacking security systems.

Re: T60p Bios password?
Thanks for the confirmation, I googled about it and know the procedures. Though I will first try to contact the previous owner.
