Why is my T60 not in the Parts Lookup
Why is my T60 not in the Parts Lookup
Are there some T60s that are not represented in the Parts Lookup database?
Machine Type = 2007
Model Number = W5X
Serial Number = L34L96E
If I do a quick path using 2007W5X it works. But if I do a parts lookup with 2007 and L34L96E it does not recognize it. I can get parts lookup to work with other machines but not this one. What am I doing wrong?

Nothing. Unfortunately, sometimes a given machine is not at all registered in the Lenovo Support database.kurutta wrote:What am I doing wrong?

OK.Nothing. Unfortunately, sometimes a given machine is not at all registered in the Lenovo Support database.
And I also noticed, in the Browse Products facility, that the W5X model number is not listed. Not a big deal -- just want to know how to use the database.

Did you try the warranty look-up?
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E

Go here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/ and look for the Driver Matrix link lower left center. I find my T61p drivers in there and it is **vastly** superior to the model lookup. ... JDH
Re: Why is my T60 not in the Parts Lookup
Just tried it and It seems to recognize my machine as a 2007-CTO. Perhaps this is a default behavior when the model number is not recongnized.Did you try the warranty look-up?
Was not aware of this path to the drivers and other downloads. By superior, I assume you mean that the way all the files are presented is far less annoying then the Download Drivers & Software link where you have to open each category to see anything.Go here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/ and look for the Driver Matrix link lower left center. I find my T61p drivers in there and it is **vastly** superior to the model lookup.
Re: Why is my T60 not in the Parts Lookup
I don't know if this link wil work correctly for you (because of the nature of the link), but when I click on the T61 link, I get this:
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/researc ... MIGR-67853
That shows me all the drivers for my machine. Yes, I have to click on the driver to download it. Also, it may just be my preference when I say it is better. So let me say: It is better for me. .. JDH
