Need help differentiating digitizer assemblies

#1 Post by finalfenix » Sun Sep 25, 2011 1:57 pm

Long story short, my LCD is broken and I need to replace it.

I have a Lenovo X61 Tablet that has Pen and Single Touch Input.

I looked up the parts information on the Lenovo website and found these two options:
  • 12.1-in. XGA TFT, protection plate, digitizer assembly G4 (13N7215 replaces 13N7203)
  • 12.1-in. XGA TFT, protection plate, digitizer assembly G5 (13N7224)
How do I know which one is the one I'm supposed to get? Is there a way I can find out without opening it up and taking off the bezel?

Also, I was thinking about taking the time to upgrade the screen. Is there a MultiTouch option with this series? I've seen that sometimes Lenovo identifies Pen and Single Touch Input as "MultiTouch," but my definition of MultiTouch is touch input with multiple fingers.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product ... ookup.page
On this page, enter your Type (e.g. 6363, from the label on the bottom)
In the second field your Serial Number (without the dash, e.g. L3AB123).
That should tell you what LCD your machine had ex factory.
What is the full Type/Model of the laptop, e.g. 6363-CBU ?

AFAIK there is no multi-touch panel, the way you describe it.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
