Error 301 - how to fix?

#1 Post by Maurean » Tue Apr 05, 2005 7:42 pm

I get an error code 301 which is the keypad, I believe. How do I fix this? When I boot up, I get the error code and if I hit Cntrl-Alt-Delete, I can boot up into Win2000, but I cannot use anything. I even tried connecting a good mouse and still no-go. Any ideas how to fix?
I have a Thinkpad 600 with Win2000Pro

First, determine if any of your keys are just sticky. Wiggle and play with all of them to see if you can determine which ones. If you can unstick them, you're done.

If they are not sticky, but are broken, you'll need to replace your keyboard. If you're handy with a screwdriver you can do it yourself. Read the FAQ here on how to get your Hardware Maintenance Manual. It has pictures and makes the job easy.

You can buy a keyboard from a local laptop repair shop or from eBay. For the 600 line, prices were about the same in my area.

Thanks. The keys are not sticky, so assume I need a new keyboard
