How? Simpletech RAM now STEC, Inc Warranty RMA replacement

How? Simpletech RAM now STEC, Inc Warranty RMA replacement claim

I have 2 x 2GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SODIMMs that have lifetime warranty on them as per my documentation. But SimpleTech seems to be acquired by Hitachi GST and hence their Support website goes to Hitachi site.

After a bunch of browsing & searching through, I cant find any trace of how to file/ request a RAM replacement / claim with them.

As per Wikipedia the DRAM part of business became STEC, Inc.

The SSD Company - STEC, Inc. - Solid State Drive Solutions

Cant find, how/ where to RMA / ask for warranty.

Any thoughts/ suggestions?

EDIT: My online research indicates STEC, Inc is the part of the business that went on with the Non-HDD business which includes DRAM.

ALSO:

I want to acquire 2 x 4G DDR2 SODIMMs. The RAM pairs (1st Original Pair 2x 2G, 2nd New Pair 2 x 4G) would go into my T61 & X61T.

Which BRAND & where would be the best place to buy? In terms of Price & Long term reliability & Warranty?

Hitachi SimpleTech is a line of basic external hard drives, Those products are not interesting.

SimpleTech, maker of RAM and flash modules, changed its name to STEC, Inc. in 2007. STEC is still alive and well.

Thanks automobus. I was able to get to this realization yesterday as well, but appreciate your input.

Send e-mail to DRAM at STEC, Inc.

Regarding your seach for memory modules, I have confidence in Kingston and Samsung. But no matter what brand, I urge you to buy used parts, rather than new.

Thanks. I wrote to them.

PS: Any ideas where I could find a good priced 2 x 4GB DDR2 ? cause DDR3 is now so much cheaper than DDR2.
