I have a bit of a frustrating problem. I just recently acquired a beautiful X61 Tablet with the SXGA+ screen, but the Wacom Digitizer stylus (pen) does not work. The pen works on other Lenovo tablets so I know it's not the pen. Also, the FPR does not work, and none of the Tablet buttons work (rotate, toolbox, CTRL+ALt+DEL, Esc), but the power button on the LCD bezel works and the LED lights work.
I'm inclined to think this is some sort of hardware issue. Here's what I have done already:
1) Re-installed OS (win 7 and vista) and installed all appropriate drivers (or at least I hope so). I've tried all the Lenovo drivers and the drivers from Wacom themselves. Still it's frustrating that all the drivers are marked "touch" when this is not a touch display. It's the SXGA+ display.
2) Under HID devices I sometimes get "Code 10 device cannot start" for the Wacom Digitizer, but once "correct" drivers are installed it's gone, but the panel still does not respond to Pen input.
3) Took apart LCD and checked all cables were installed correctly and snugly including those behind the LCD panel.
Under the keyboard there is a green "L" shaped board where the connections from the LCD panel all meet. Could this board be faulty and the cause of all my woes? Any help would be appreciated as I'd hate to sell this things for parts as the screen looks so beautiful!

Check that everything is enabled in BIOS, and that BIOS is up-to-date.
There's also a Middleton BIOS which allows for SATA II speed, Vista/7 Slic-tables and has no whitelists for wifi.
That machine was most likely geared for XP Tablet Version 2005, you try that?

BIOS is set to default and everything looks good. BIOS was also updated once I got the machine.RealBlackStuff wrote:Check that everything is enabled in BIOS, and that BIOS is up-to-date.
