Hello guys!
Very recently, I got a free (and quite certainly working) BluRay drive from a scrapped and broken HP notebook. As it has the same slimline S-ATA connector, I managed to put it into my Ultrabase (was rather tricky to do though, as it's about half a millimeter too thick, but eventually it worked).
Anyways, thing is: It does not get recognized anywhere (Windows, BIOS, etc). All it does is start spinning/checking for CD during about 1.5sec before it cuts out completely and won't do anything (no power: eject button doesn't do anything). Is this an issue with some kind of software restriction in the Thinkpad's BIOS or is this a hardware issue?
I saw one guy on here who put a slot-loading drive in his T420 without problem, which is why I'm asking here, as maybe somebody else in here has done something similar already. Google and Bing weren't really helpful.
Greetings
