refurbished machines from Lenovo outlet?

#1 Post by ljwobker » Tue Oct 04, 2011 5:42 pm

Anyone bought a refurb from the Lenovo outlet? I'm considering one and wanted to see if there were any good reasons NOT to get one from here... experiences (good or bad) with support, initial quality, etc would be appreciated.

I've purchased one directly from Lenovo and two from others on this forum. Excellent results every time. I would not be concerned about quality.

Check price though. Occasionally refurbs cost more than current sale prices.

Avoid the T510 series... They (like mine) are prone to this hissing electronic noise. I'm not sure all models have this issue but my type is 4313-CTO, so just avoid buying that type.
:) Good luck

Are you sure that's not the CPU whine, which happens on a lot of Intel machines, not just the T510.

I've bought two from them. One back in the day when IBM sold on eBay (A21m) and another just a month ago for my wife (another T410 with specs very similar to mine in my signature for $442). Been very pleased both times. Her machine looks in all ways like new. Battery had a cycle count of 2.

Just be aware that you can't cancel your order once you place it. You change your mind, you must reject delivery and pay a 15% restocking fee.
