T60 won't connect with ethernet & modem

Works fine on wi-fi. Ethernet card not showing on device mgr. Is driver missing? If so, where can I get download from Lenovo?

In BIOS (hold F1 on boot), under config; Internal Network Device - Enabled is default, Hidden is the option. Select whether to use or hide Internal Network (Ethernet) Device. [Enabled] Enables use of Internal Network Device. [Hidden] Hides Internal Network Device and keeps it disabled in the OS environment.

Thanks Harry, Bios setting was enabled. Found driver for Intel pro 1000 Lan adapter on Lenovo website and reloaded it, but still no device shown in Device Manager.

Run a PC-Doctor CD and test Ethernet. If it fails you need a new systemboard.

Ran a scan with Lenovo Thinkvantage Toolbox yesterday and all passed. Note in dialogue box corner say this is powered by PC Doctor, is this same as PC Doctor?

However I just ran a specific diagnostic for communications 3 items shown:
Model - Thinkpad Modem
Moden - Standard 56000 modem
Network card Intel (R) PRO/Wireless 3954 ABG. Since ethernet card is not shown does this mean it is bad?

OK, can I get another one?
I have been "under the hood", several months ago I replaced lid w/ screen and last week R/R fan for cleaning & oiling. Could I have disrupted a connection?

It's integrated into the systemboard. The systemboard would have to be replaced.

How big a deal and cost is this? Or easier to get a wireless modem?

Well, your best bet is to get a PCMCIA Ethernet card.
