Crazy problems with stylus/pen input

Recently I have had problems on my x60 with my stylus input where it will freak out and wipe out any inking I have recently done and then completely disable left and right clicking with any pointing device at all. I can get the ability to click back by pushing ctrl + alt + del, or any UAC prompt, but this is hardly acceptable. The problem does not appear to be Windows related as I also get extremely odd behavior in Linux as well. Does anyone know what could be broken and how hard would it be to fix?
