Dead Battery Recycling

#1 Post by victord1 » Wed Apr 06, 2005 10:07 pm

I got a new battery for my thinkpad, but I am not sure, how do you guys recycle your old ones? Does anyone buy them? I am not looking to get top price, maybe only to cover shipping. Seems a shame to throw something away that someone else might fix and reuse, not to mention more environmentally friendly. Anyone know of cheap and easy way to recycle an old failed battery for a 600x ?

Thanks

You might get some more use out of it. Try looking at refreshing the battery.

Look here
ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pccbbs/mo ... 9n8608.pdf
you might find out how to refresh the battery in here or just contact IBM via email and they'll point you in the right direction.

Radio Shack will accept any rechargable battery for free recycling: laptop, cordless phone, cell phone, camera...
