Full charge capacity vs. Number of charge cycles.

how do you guys keep the cycles so low even if it's a 2 years old battery??
even though most of the time i use ac power it increases its cycle once in a while (the most i've used is like >70%)
exactly at which level that it will add a cycle count to the battery??

Total Wear: 5.02Wh in 12 months.
~3Wh of this happend in the first month when the start and stop charging percentages were at the default 100% level.
Then I started to play around with these numbers and after 2 months I set them to 90% and 94%.
Since then the wear is 2Wh in 11 months, i.e., 0.18Wh per month. Way better than 3 Wh per month with the default values.
For me, this means at least 2 hours of normal use charge even after two years from now.

Pretty low. It was good till about a month ago, then it went down very very fast. Well, I have 220Volt plug in my car and a new T60p otherwise I would have bought a new battery.

Hi guys, I just wanted to know you think that my battery capacity has dropped way too much for the amount of use I have given it.
One day it just violently dropped from like 53 to 48 Wh, and has been going down slowly ever since. I've only done maybe 3 or 4 deep cycles just to see if maybe it was digital "memory".

You think it's a tad low???? thanks!

edit: I believe it is at about 80% of capacity right now.

So, quite a disappointing loss of capacity. I use it predominantly on mains. I think I'll wait a while before trying to recondition it again.
Looking at the other posts in this thread, I get the impression that Sony batteries last better than Sanyo (unless they explode/get recalled of course), and possibly Panasonic are best, if rare.

This is my second battery for my X31. When I purchased the X31 from IBM (refurbed) it came with a brand new battery, so that one is on the shelf for the time being. This used battery came with a MediaSlice I purchased off ebay last September. The auction stated Slice with CD Drive, but said nothing about including a battery! Great deal to get the Slice, CD AND battery for $50.

I really wish I could set thresholds on this X31.

I'm just lucky that the previous owner hardly ever ran the T42 off battery!

Thing is though, I regret not switching the battery in my old T40 (which had about 130 cycles) for the 377 cycle one, although the 377 cycle one does a fairly good job for its age and current capacity.
