Re: power for x301
yes, it works. I interchange adapters between T60p, T61p and X301 depending on where I am at. (of course, not the other way - never had to try the 65W X301 adapter with T60p or T61p)

Re: system beep volume
no, it is really not a necessity - especially with SSDs to know when your system has entered standby (so it can be moved/handled).. but in general, I find it a "nice to have" feature just as a confirmation that the system did enter standby. There has been times when I put the lid down on my old T60p...

Re: system beep volume
It appears, the only option through the volume keys, is to mute the beep. Raising or lowering the volume has no effect on the beep.

Re: Is UWB-USB standard in X301?
Thanks, that is interesting to know. Although, I think I am confusing the terms - the X301 HMM refers to part number 42T0975 as "Wireless USB PCI Express Half-Mini Card" while a few (independent) online part stores call it Ultra wideband card. Perhaps I should treat the HMM as an authoritative source.

system beep volume
Sorry if this has been answered before but I could not find anything.
The X301 emits a terribly loud beep when entering standby or waking up. The only controls I noticed is in BIOS allowing enable or disable. Apart from completely disabling the beep, is there any way to lower the volume?
Thanks
Parag

Is UWB-USB standard in X301?
I am looking at X301 (2777CTO) configuration page on Lenovo's website but I don't see any options to include UWB connectivity. Does anyone know if it is standard and inclusive in all X301? Since the UWB half mini-PCI is available as a service part, I thought it would at least be an available option ...

perhaps my method may not be the cleanest one - but a caddy purchased on ebay was "missing" :? the tab and I used a #0 Philips head screwdriver to lock into the HDD screw (which is torx) and then just pulled out the drive. You only need apply pressure until the HDD unlatches from the SATA connector ...

Re: T60, Vista Ultimate, ThinkVantage, Access Connections
I was wondering if anyone that was using Access Connections was using any other program to see what wireless networks were around? When I have used Access Connections, it seems that since I use a certain SSID, it doesn't look any further than that. Am I missing something? Just curious to see what o...

Re: Lenovo Selling New Old Stock?
But, I did order a 3-year warranty upgrade and the website shows only a 1-year warranty. I guess a phone call is in order. From past experiences, it takes Lenovo 2-4 weeks to update the warranty database. If you purchased additional warranty, it will show up on their website later. Just keep your o...

posible solution
I have seen this before on my T60p and the solution was to clear (reset) TPM chip in BIOS. In my case, I had reverted to factory settings and TPM still contained previous certificates and led to CSS being unable to communicate with TPM. I am not sure behind the logic of this resolution for those who...

In my experience VS2005 doesn't run that great on Vista. Just something to keep in mind. My experience with VS2005 on Vista has been similar. I am running VS2005 SP1 with Hotfix for Vista on Vista Ultimate and T60p/2.16GHz/2GB/ATI FireGL5200. The Window transitions seem a bit choppy in VS while sim...

Agreed :) But technically speaking, 4:3 screen is not a square either. For a given unit square, it is 4 units wide and only 3 units high. For sake of argument, one might consider a 4:3 as widescreen if a conventional widerscreen (16:10) did not exist. Perhaps we could also use the term widerscreen f...

Just got off the phone with Lenovo and this is an error, supposedly being worked on right now. Ship dates should be 2-3 weeks according to the rep. Ditto. LCD replacement/upgrade
Hello all, I recently ordered a T60p widescreen (ATI FireGL 5250 256MB WSXGA+) which shipped yesterday. I am toying with the idea of replacing (in future) the LCD with a WUXGA model 13N7198 (perhaps might also need the inverter board). My question to fellow Thinkpad afficionados: will this be as sim...
