Re: Positive feedback for FAIR Traders

Hi Gang. My X6xT collection just keeps growing and growing, with special thanks to AJKULA66 , who contributed an x60T specimen, spare parts, and another side-deal battery. Always a pleasure to deal with this gentleman, great communications, and a willingness to endure my questions and my incessant ...

Re: Beware Update KB4457139

My desktop and most laptops run W7 (a few oldies with XP never go online). Nothing runs W8 or W10. None of the above have had ANY Windows update since May 2016 . None of them ever give me a problem! The only updates they get are for the (free) Bitdefender AV (automatic) and (free) Malwarebytes (bi-...

Look for another board. Forum rules prohibit the discussions regarding bypassing security measures, including BIOS/Supervisor passwords.

Good luck.

Interesting stuff you've got there, and have provided a very nice write-up.... :thumbs-UP:

Your R600 got the most of my attention, though. While I have no intent on pursuing such a route myself, it's great to know that the mod is a doable one.

Enjoy the herd!

I know *for a fact* that you haven't seen the religion-induced-savagery in the Balkans during the 90s. I lived in the middle of it. There was absolutely nothing religion induced in the Balkans during the 90s. The Serbs simply wanted to execute their dream of "Great Serbia." It had very little to do...

Didn't like the 80s....but liked the 90s? That's not something I hear everyday. But interesting nonetheless. Heh...I can't tell you how many people went through my LP collection back in the day and ended up shaking their heads. My taste in music is pretty widespread I love Bach, am a *huge* Beatles...

Every generation is going to say the current state of music is horrible...I think that is basically a human requirement.
Yeah, that sounds about right, at least to a degree. I hated 80s altogether, not just the music. On the other hand, 90s brought a lot of stuff that I did like. Go figure.

Shoot to incapacitate first, shoot to kill second.
While the concept sounds plausible and may work at the shooting range, it is not viable in real life. At all.

Re: SSD questions

Agree with this but you also have to take into account that these are 10 year old machines. MTBF of the parts are fast approaching if not surpassed. Motherboard failure, fan errors, etc can come at any time, branded SSD or not. Backup is key IMO. But one is not soldering the SSD to the motherboard....

Re: SSD questions

Honestly, given the T61's outdated SATA equipment and the advances in SSD technology over the last few years, even a cheapo SSD from a brand like Inland would probably still max out the speed the T61 can take from the drive. To me personally, the question is whether one is comfortable with relying ...

How is the display?
No flaws that I can see.
Is it a genuine battery, if so how much capacity?
Genuine it is, I was using the machine as a Linux testbed, let me see if I can figure out how to get you that info.

I tried the ram from it earlier with same result. Could be the hard drive because it also does other noises when running.
Just pull the hard drive out. Makes everyone's life easier.

My previous question was in regards to you putting the "new" board in the "other" R40.
