Re: Thinkpad USB Ultranav keyboard - hardware questions
All my trackpoint keyboards are the original IBM ultranav and the Lenovo 7-row travel keyboards. I'm not interested in experimenting with the Chinese copy since I rely on full functionality of the original - and I'm vary of unknown trackpoints. Even before posting I bought a used IBM ultranav withou...

Re: Thinkpad USB Ultranav keyboard - hardware questions
Thank you for your reply. It's not a driver issue. That particular keyboard has worked well for 6+ years since I had it and then just that one arrow key stopped working. I have disassembled it, removing the cup, and there is no reaction when I press it. Everything else works fine. Whatever the probl...

Thinkpad USB Ultranav keyboard - hardware questions
Hi... A right cursor key stopped working on one of my ultranav keyboards. The issue is not mechanical - I disassembled the key, removing the cup, but the key still failed to respond. 1. If anyone has disassembled the backplate and repaired such a key, I would greatly appreciate any advice. 2. I'd gl...

Re: Thunderbolt dock gen 2 (40AN0230EU)
40AN0135EU works with TP25 and another model which is not listed under supported models. However, I had only limited time to test so far.
Also, it looks to me as if all the thunderbolt gen 2 docks are the same and that the difference is in PSU only. I could be wrong, of course.

b) The Product Compatibility Matrix *XLS (from above posting by yours truly) also confirmed that T25 does not support this model. T470 is listed in the XLS as supported, which means TP25 is supported as well, unless Lenovo implements whitelist/blacklists in their Thunderbolt docks based on machine ...

has anyone used the TP25 with this dock? I cannot find it on the list of supported models.
Thanks,

Ultranav USB keyboard problem
Hi, The lower trackpoint buttons on one of my ultranav keyboards have stopped working because someone spilled something on it. The issue has been narrowed down to the films with rubber buttons, but I cannot find what's wrong. I've tried cleaning all the layers, but with no success. Any suggestions o...

Regarding diskeeper, fragmentation isnt a problem of the physical disk. It doesnt matter if spindle or ssd for defragmentation to occur. Its a problem of the filesystem. So fragmentation still occurs. Another story is, if performance will suffer from fragmentation when using an SSD. Fact is, on a v...

Buying Thinkpad parts
Hi,
I'm looking for an online store, preferably Canadian but US will do, which sells new replacement parts, including batteries. I'm particularly interested in parts for 570 and 600 notebooks. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thx.

Unfortunately, in Europe, we get absolutely screwed on import tax these days so ordering such an expensive item from the US would not be a good idea. I'd say that's too simplified. There are taxes and customs everywhere - but in the end, Europe always pays more for the same thing. And when somethin...

The T61P look very expensive in Canadian $...maybe a T60P can do the job... Also, they seem to have different hardware...the T61 seems to come with the Turbo caching technology with a HDD of 5400RPM and the T61P come with a 7200 RPM... But a T61P will rock solide :) If you have the money go for it ...

Re: T60p Model Differences please
Based on what I've seen on Lenovo's site in Canada, it all depends if the model is Topseller or not. If it is, the price is normal. If not, it is outrageous. In many cases differences between models are negligible, excepting the price.

These are obviously the low end T61p models. Not everyone needs the speed. In this case, it seems the "p" designation is earned through screen resolution and processing power. Only the p models to my knowledge will have WUXGA. Im sure you are not complaining that Lenovo is giving people the option ...

Re: 4:3 aspect ratio
I also just noticed in the 14" manual that the resolutions listed are 4:3 aspect resolutions. 1024x768 and 1400x1050. I guess the T61's and T61p wont all be widescreen. Whats also interesting is that one of the 15in models can run WUXGA with only an Intel x3100. Thats pretty impressive for an intel...
