Re: BIOS with whitelist disabled?
What about just buying the Lenovo Intel card on eBay? I bought those for all my older Thinkpads no issues. Just make sure it is for Lenovo and not the generic one such as this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wireless-AC-7260-7260HMW-Wifi-Bluetooth-4-0-Mini-PCI-E-Card-for-Intel-Lenovo-/351021919254?pt=U...

You might be interested in knowing that neither of those two laptops will be any faster than your T410s by nature of their ULV processors. Their maximum turbo boost is comparable to your old processor using no boost- Haswell isn't distinguishable from Arrandale/Sandy Bridge/Ivy Bridge apart from po...

Re: 410 vs 410S etc.
As you'll see from my signature, I had a ...,T400, T410 and now a T410s. This is all within the space of a few months also and i'll tell you why. I had a really nice T400, more than powerful enough (P8600) and thin and light (for a 14" machine). Ended up getting the T410 (Core i5, WXGA) because of t...

All you can do is just buy the 3rd antenna and then put it underneath the keyboard but you wont get much benefit of it either.

Re: T400 or T410 -- Which is better for price?
Well for the price difference then definitely get the T400. If the money is not a issue then might as well get the T410 (if the screen resolution wasn't bothering you). I for one try to avoid that resolution like the plague. I had a T410 and sold it partly for that reason. To upgrade it to the WXGA+...

Hehe, he's simply asking if the monitor can be disconnected to rotate it (think Tablet screen) and the answer is no. The hinges are big and strong to not wear out over time (like some other companies where the screen gets wobbly after 6 months!)

Re: battery discharge order changed by now?
You can always hibernate and/or shutdown to replace batteries. The UltraBay battery could fix that problem by still powering the system even after the main battery has been pulled out to swap. This is good in cases where you are downloading something or doing some running work and you just can't shu...

Hmm these are the same drives in the T410s right? If anything I might be up to selling mine as i want to buy a OCZ Vertex 2 60GB but in the 1.8" size they are $200+ vs the cheaper 2.5" drives. Definitely something wrong with that system when it's idling at 79C!!! I don't have an X60 but I can't imagine that as "normal!" The Core CPU in my T series idles at say 31-36C for comparison while just typing on this page. I don't game on here but even under my more taxing apps it never goes that h...

Power Manager can only read what the battery tells it. If the battery says 37wHrs but only has 9wHrs then Power Manager will show you 37. After 2yrs (now 3 i guess since the first post was from January! :D - i think i had a T61 then also) then you can say you've gotten good usage out of that battery...

Hell yeah, the T400 i had was similar but less features and i paid $500 for that in June and I thought that was a smoking deal. I ended up selling it and buying a T410 however but sold it for the same $500 and the new owner still loves it like crazy!

Here's a comparison of a few RAM alternatives on Newegg: http://bit.ly/diEPTQ . It's interesting to see such a big price difference, is that at hint at quality? Tor. Some of the RAM there have higher latency. I checked my system (T410si) and it came with 2GB but the RAM included was Timing 7-7-7-20...

I really fell in love with Thinkpads when I got to use a T40. I had and used Thinkpads before (T20-23) but i swapped it for a Dell Latitude C610 that i really loved. I think at the time i was just younger and couldn't afford the Thinkpad but the latitudes were cheap(er). I went to a temporary data e...

With Optimus models it controlled automatically by the system. There should be a setting to do it though.

I was wondering too. My T410s came with the card and has the Verizon sticker on the palmrest (removing that soon!!) In Access connections however i saw options to Switch to AT&T (it even gave me the error, "NO SIM Card") and Sprint (as well as Verizon). So it seems they are all the same. I'll be sti...

Re: Gobi 2000, AT&T, and HSUPA
The galaxy S devices support HSUPA: HSDPA:HSDPA 7.2 Mbit/s .HSUPA:HSUPA 5.76 Mbit/s As you can see, it should get better results than the Gobi2000. AT&T is upgraded to the faster HSUPA but as with any wireless tech, you wont see 2Mbps on the Gobi, you definitely wont see 5.7 on the iPhone 4 or Capit...

Re: Gobi 2000, AT&T, and HSUPA
Weird, anything over 300 should be HSUPA since UMTS is 384/384. HSDPA only changes the download speed so if you are getting 600 then you are going close to the 2.0Mbps max of the card anyways.
Which phone do you have? Maybe your phone has a faster HSUPA speed than the card.
