Re: x220 or x201?

I can't really answer that, I'm more or less asking myself the same question, but X220 vs.X201s. I'm definitely more inclined to take the x201s because of the 1440×900 resolution, but did someone had a chance to look at x220 1366×768 IPS and X201s 1440×900 screens side by side and could report on th...

Off topic, but does that means that you successfully used video chat from empathy to the google gtalk client? Cheers, No, I haven't actually tried that. But it sure looks like it would work; I can see myself in the video preview, and the contact has the webcam icon, indicating that it supports it. ...

Re: FS:Sharp UXGA 14.1" LCD LQ141U1LH02 [PICS]

I have an extra Sharp LCD here, LQ141U1LH02. Used for the UXGA conversion on a T4* series. Screen is in good shape, there is a very small mark in the center, very faint. Backlight is bright, but dimmer than new. Asking $60 US plus shipping. Thanks. Can this be used in 14.1" T61? And how hard is it ...

For resolutions, Ideapads don't seem to have great resolutions so don't hold your breathe:

17" (1440 x 900)

So 1680×1050 on 13.3", I guess you're dreaming...

Re: Intel graphics and dual screen? (T61)

It's just straightforward with X3100, Just use xrandr. Problem with xrandr is, that it only changes the resolution & screen settings dynamically. After you restart X, your back to what's defined in your xorg.conf. I have yet to figure out, how to tell X via xorg.conf that I want a dualscreen setup ...

IWS Upgrade

Hi, I finally purchased a T61 8897-CTO SXGA+ with integrated graphics, from Euclid Computers (they are really nice), it arrived last week at home, in France. The problem is that when I had to chose the model I wanted to be sure to have a model with IWS, so I checked between 8895 and 8897. One has it...

The future of 4:3 doesn't look good. I know of one (very) big corporation that purchases Thinkpads for its employees. Up until and including the T60, they always went with 14" SXGA+, but for the T61 they switched to 14" wide WXGA+. Although I don't know the official reason, I believe that it is due...

I'm trying to buy a T61 14" SXGA+ with X3100, wich is not findable in France. So I think I may try to buy it from US by some friend and have it sent to me.
