X41T broken power jack - serious buzzing - help!
The power jack on my X41T is seriously loose, and almost always "buzzes" seriously unless I torque the power plug into some odd configuration. It almost always buzzes when the laptop is NOT charging, and then stops buzzing when it's finally reseated and the laptop then suddenly starts charging again...

LED changeout for X41T screen?
I was wondering if anyone has hacked the X41T screen to replace the fluorescent element with an LED system? Of course any of this is "possible" - my question is if anyone has done it, and if so how

Re: X41T tablet pen - retractable tether ideas?
Something like this...? http://www.gearsolutions.co.uk/rt_retractable_series.php Thank you! That's exactly what I was looking for. The main issue is balancing "retractability", the tension it has to pull the pen in place with still being loose enough to ensure the pen is still easy to hold. Main is...

I also used the stylus with MS Paint. That was incredible, have to try it with Photoshop, or GIMP. Try AutoDesk's SketchBook pro software http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/index?siteID=123112&id=6848332 HIGHLY recommended! :thumbs-UP: :thumbs-UP: not only is it highly intuitive (I was speedin...

Most reliable, best source for X41T 8-cell?
Ebay is flooded with X41T replacement cells. Newegg has an OEM 8-cell battery for $150. Amazon is nearly as expensive. I was wondering if any of you have a good source for *reliable* 8-cell batteries for the X41 Tablet? I'd rather pay $70 bucks for a high quality new battery from a reliable source t...

Re: Swapping X41T 758 processor with ULV 773
thank you for your good insight here. I was able to underclock my 1.5Ghz Intel Pentium M 758 to 600Mhz @ .7V!! Serious savings there, should keep the power down to a minimum without any further $$$ investment. If I run something with a heavy load of course it can bump it back up. I use the tablet a ...

Re: Swapping X41T 758 processor with ULV 773
Apparently many X41T tablets out there already have a ULV processor in the form of the Intel Pentium M Ultra Low Voltage 753 (1.2GHz).

When I'm ready I might sell this one and go ULV

X41T tablet pen - retractable tether ideas?
Having a tether on the tablet pen is handy to keep it from disappearing.
However this tether can be annoying when the pen is lodged tucked way. It can flop around and easily snag.
Does anyone have ideas for a retractable tether that fulfills the need and keeps it tidy?

Unless there's any certified professional desolderers for hire I doubt I'll be attempting this.

Swapping X41T 758 processor with ULV 773
http://ark.intel.com/Compare.aspx?ids=27611,27604 It appears the Pentium ULV 773 processor is a direct drop in for the X41T. I am currently running a Pentium M 758 1.5Ghz processor. However, I'd like to switch over to the Pentium M 773 1.3Ghz, as it drops the operating wattage by 2 watts , which wil...

Re-celling X41T batteries
Do anyone here have advice on "re-celling" X41T batteries (preferably 8-cell, but 4-cell advice is good too! ) I have an 8-cell X41T battery that's got maybe 50 minutes of life on a full charge, so it's pretty much far and gone. I was very curious if it would be possible to "re-cell" it, as in buy t...

Re: X41 tablet autorotate disable?
After some head scratching, I finally came to the "Doh!" moment. The setting is in the ThinkVantage settings menu, not Tablet PC settings box. Another access way is to press the setting button on the screen, and go to the very bottom where it says "Settings". There's a check box to orientate "Auto S...

tablet pc digitizer pen compatability
from what I've read, the pens of most (all?) tablet pc's with Wacom digitizers are compatible with Thinkpad tablets. The main question I have is on "levels of pressure sensitivity". Are these other tablet pc digitizer pens directly swappable in every function, including pressure sensitivity? Or, is ...

Re: IBM ThinkPad X41 Tablet "Display"
you could try getting a keyboard off ebay and seeing it will boot with it installed, just an idea. Did the source you bought it from say the mainboard/cpu/etc was good, or was it "as-is" without any explination?
