T450s touchpad issue T470s upgrade?

I currently use a T450s which is fine, aside from one issue that has plagued me ever since I bought it (used). The touchpad is overly sensitive. I've tried all sorts of different adjustments in the Synaptics settings, and generally I have to choose between very frequent accidental/unintended 'taps' ...

Re: Display issues, Intel graphics driver issues

Thanks, I'll check up on that part number when I get home, although I seem to remember my current panel is an LTN number, making yours a Samsung like mine. My main issue is the uneveness of it, even when looking directly at the screen (even with the laptop at eye level), there is a HUGE difference i...

Re: Display issues, Intel graphics driver issues

@TTY - thanks for that, I will bear it in mind should I need to reinstall the OS again, but the Intel driver from their website seems to have solved the problem, for now.

Re: Display issues, Intel graphics driver issues

The display on my T410 is a 1440x900, which is quite nice for my standards. The viewing angles seem to be a lot better than the 1280x800 screen on the T410s. I do not have a T410 with 1280x800 around to compare to. Could you do me a favour and run Moninfo on your T410? I'd like to know the exact mo...

Re: Display issues, Intel graphics driver issues

It's a 2537-DQ8, dual booting Win7 Pro 64 (not a system image, clean install from upgrade media) and Linux Mint 12. It originally ran Win7 Pro 32.

Re: Replacing LCD - will it void my warranty?

The short answer is "Yes if Lenovo picks up on the fact that you replaced the screen". That being said, if you want to upgrade the screen and keep the machine, there's no other way of going about it. Good luck. So, if I were sneaky like a fox, kept the old screen and swapped it back in the event of...

Re: Replacing LCD - will it void my warranty?

Also, a follow up question: Is it possible for me to find out my current screen manufacturer/part without removing the screen? EDIT: Used Moninfo to find out my screen is a Samsung LTN141AT15001 I'd prefer to try a different screen manufacturer, since the viewing angles and contrast are so bad on my...

Replacing LCD - will it void my warranty?

I am going to ask a friend of mine (who works for a laptop repair company) to replace the LCD on my T410. He can source the part cheaply and do the work for free. I will be changing from a WXGA to a WXGA+ resolution screen. Will my warranty be invalidated if I don't use a Lenovo service centre to so...

Display issues, Intel graphics driver issues

I've recently got hold of a second hand T410 as a replacement for my T41p. I have to say I'm slightly disappointed with the machine... The palmrest was creaky on both sides but I managed to fix that by inserting cardboard underneath it. The whole thing is just not a sturdy and solid as the T41p. The...

Re: Solution: replacing the gritty touchpad on newer Thinkpads

I'd also like to know what size I need to order for a T410 - my textured touchpad is wearing away and it really annoys me....

Re: T41p touchpad problem - scrolling up when not wanted

Bit weird. That support page shows the latest driver as 15.0.24.0, however when I click the link to get to the download page it leads to 15.0.18.0 - which is what I already have installed.

I will try reinstalling it and let you know if that fixes my problem, thanks :-)

T41p touchpad problem - scrolling up when not wanted

I have a T41p and the hard-drive came from my old T41 and was transplanted directly into the T41p. This problem has followed me from my last computer to this one - so I know it's not hardware related. When touching the top right hand corner of the touchpad sometimes the browser page will start scrol...
