Re: T410 new battery goes off when reaches 25%
I had similar problem. T410 was actually going hibernation. I reset the charge threshold to 90% and set the critical battery threshold as low as possible and the low/critical battery on AC action to none. No more problem.

Re: T410 randomly shuts down
Apparently it's not the battery... Replaced it and after a couple days it hibernated. I reset the charge threshold to 90% and set the critical battery threshold as low as possible and the low/critical battery on AC action to none.

Re: T410 randomly shuts down
I realized it's not shutting down. It's hibernating. That is what the power management does at critical battery level. The battery meter says 79%; I have set the charge threshold to stop charging at 80%. And the mains are connected. Another user has similar problem and was advised to check the power...

Re: T410 randomly shuts down
Thanks for comments. TPFC reports CPU temp mid 60s. This is a NVidia NV3100 machine. Is there a utility that will show the GPU temp? I replaced the fan/heatsink about a year ago. The battery appears to be a genuine Lenovo type 55++; Sanyo manufacture 2/2012; in service 4/13. I agree, it could be a g...

T410 randomly shuts down
Recently, I hear the death knell chime which may be the same as the low battery warning-- up to 3 times then the T410 shuts down. It restarts normally. The battery says it is in good condition and the CPU temp is in the mid 60s. The bios is version 6IET74WW (1.34) and Windows version is 10.0.17134.1...

Re: T61p Factory ID decode, Planar ID
This label says "FRU 42W67653." Googling this fails. On pg 140 of T6x HMM there is listed "42W7653" which seems to be the original FX570M motherboard. So that's what I have.
Thx

T61p Factory ID decode, Planar ID
This flea market T61p 6459-CTO, Quadro 570M, short $, provides much delight:
Label on bottom: "Made in China {some Chinese characters} Factory ID: H"
What factory is this?
How can I detect if the planar has been replaced without opening up the machine?

Re: X61S powers fine on battery but does not power on AC
Thanks! X61S fuses are not quite the same as X60. All the fuses in the area of the power circuitry, the 7A and two 10A as well as a couple others, are all good. This morning's observation: if I boot on battery, start power manager, and then connect AC, the battery voltage reads high, 17.2V and curre...

X61S powers fine on battery but does not power on AC
Today my X61S quit running on AC. It was running and charging battery, and then I noticed the green "AC" icon was off. Now it powers up normally on battery, but does not power up on AC. It does not power up on AC when docked to Ultrabase or connected directly. Of course I tried another AC supply wit...

What is the "signal" pin on the power supply cable for?
What is the "signal" pin on the power supply ("AC Adapter") cable for? I would like to power the PC from a linear power supply to reduce RFI.
