You're right, but I won't get my hands on 2013 for a few more weeks. I'm not necessarily looking for actual metro apps, but the tiles feature is useless to me unless I can embed corporate data into it - I'm hoping (planning!) on 2013 having at least some of this functionality.

Another thing is the trackpad. It has been highly praised by reviewers and users alike, and although I find it very responsive, the double tap usually causes the cursor to "jump" away from whatever I'm trying to push. Perhaps I got lucky, but I'm not seeing some of these build quality issues - my screen doesn't have any gaps and feels very solid compared to other ultrabooks I've used. The hinge on the macbook air is not as nice in my opinion. The viewing angle is not great to be sure, but the screen, overall, is ...

Running a full-screen 3d app like a game will get the fan to run at full speed pretty quickly, as you'd suspect. In my opinion the noise is not annoying, though usually when the fan is running at that speed there is some other sound playing which easily drowns it out. Even when relatively quiet, tho...

Got my X1C a little over a month ago. Imaged the drive and threw on Win 8 RTM first thing. Two impressions: Hardware: The platform is epic; I love the feel, the location of the keys, the size, weight, the touchpad... Software: Win 8 is a mostly positive experience for me.
