I have a X61 kit with a xiphmont TLD2 (300 mA output) board. Would you be interested in that?

Re: X201 screen upgrade(1900*1200)
According to 51nb the KD122N5-A6 is compatible. Maybe it is just a glossy version of the screen. I do not know. And there is nothing plug and play about this mod. https://forum.51nb.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=1805671&highlight=x201 You have to cut the LVDS lanes, solder several SMD parts to co...

KD122N4-30NH-B2 is the lcd you need.
I tried the mod, had it working, somehow broke the electronics of the screen when I redid my adapter cable. Then gave up.

X201 only used WXGA LED screens. Anything else is a mod.
You can use LG Display LP121WX3 (TL)(C1) or AU Optronics B121EW09. Both are plug & play.

Re: New Source For LED Mod Kits?
Unfortunately nothing can compare to Montys kits, especially the daylight kits for AFFS screens. There are (plug & play) chinese kits which ar good enough for the TN XGA screens from iccfl or xccfl. http://www.xccfl.com/product_info.php?cPath=37&products_id=4726 But these have PWM flickering visible...

It is not the cheapest, but this one will fit. I have bought 2 of the FHD screens there and very happy with what I got.

Most likely your bluetooth module is broken then.
If you buy a new one, X61 also works with the bluetooth 4.0 modules from the x230. Although you need the Middleton Bios for that.

Try this:
install tpfc v 062 https://thinkwiki.de/TPFanControl belongs on a X61 anyway
right click on the temperature icon that shows up in the task bar
second menu item is for switching bluetooth

For that screen you will need the same adapter cable and mod procedure as with the SXGA+ screen.
The pinout and the cutting work on the frame are the same.

Re: Don't get ripped off on an SXGA+ screen for your X61/X62
I have had 11 -101 screens pass through my hands. And I remember seeing the retro-tv effect several times over the years. No theories as to the cause. Here is a picture from the german forum of a T60 with a very similar effect: https://imgur.com/qej2GWS Cause unknown, and it went away after several ...

Re: Don't get ripped off on an SXGA+ screen for your X61/X62
Thanks, but I do have lots of dark gray test images.
I can say that the retro-tv effect can get better by time. Takes several months.
I always thought the effect was due to static electricity in the layers of the screen. But that was simly guessing.

I tweaked it the other direction and the problem disappeared. By how much did you turn it? Tried it on a screen without the retro-tv effect with no visible effect. Re: USB3 via WWAN slot of X61s
The left side is even worse. You will have problems with interference because of the cable lenght. Probably a working cable will turn out to be too thick for a X61.
I do not think a USB C socket will work. The devices will expect a USB C controller to negotiate what the socket can do.

Re: USB3 via WWAN slot of X61s
That is not easily done. The USB 3.0 socket is nearly 3mm deeper than the USB 2.0 socket.
If you cut out a piece of the motherboard on one of the right 2 USB sockets to make the USB 3.0 fit, you will lose the 5V power supply of the socket.

So on this screen at least the -100 sticker is fake.

Yes, you have to be very careful with any kind of liquid on the screen. I use a piece of cloth smaller than the screen surface. Only this cloth is soaked with the solvent, and then covered with a piece aluminum foil to prevent the solvent from rapidly vaporising. After 10 to 20 minutes some glue can...
