I'm not troubadix, but I'll try to answer some of your questions. 1. You need to try which fan speeds are usable for your thinkpad. Every line has it's own (I think). It means, that fan speed 2 and 3 can be the same. Maybe it has something to do with binary numbers, where hw controller looks only o...
