Warp Server on ThinkPad

#1 Post by Blonde Guy » Tue Dec 20, 2005 10:59 am

I've installed WSeB on my ThinkPad T21. I've configured the server software, and added a second ethernet (DLink DFE-690TXD) in a PC Card socket. I'm going to replace my server with the T21 to save electricity.

Concerns: the hard drive temperature is high. It was 52C, but then I put the computer up on a few blocks to let air in. I've changed power management to save power, and now the hard drive temperature is about 45C.

But my server box has hard drive temperature at 36C. What can I do to lower the temperature some more?

Notebook Cooler?

#2 Post by BigWarpGuy » Tue Dec 20, 2005 1:31 pm

I have a notebook cooler. My notebook sits ontop of it and is powered by the USB port. There are a couple of fans to help keep the air circulating. Perhaps you could find a similar device(?).
