Re: FS: X601s Frankenpad
I'm interested, but curious, was there a point to putting the X61s mobo in the X60s chassis, is that just for the IBM logo?

Re: FS: X601s Frankenpad
I have plenty IBM logos for lots of different ThinkPads, they sometimes are a dime a dozen, and don't really mean anything (because they are interchangeable with Lenovo ones).
But the X60s vs X61s makes a huge world of difference, such as 3GB RAM vs 8GB RAM, 32-bit vs 64-bit OS, SATA I vs SATA II, etc.

I know the X61s is better, just wondering if there was an advantage to putting it in the X60s chassis.RealBlackStuff wrote:I have plenty IBM logos for lots of different ThinkPads, they sometimes are a dime a dozen, and don't really mean anything (because they are interchangeable with Lenovo ones).

Re: FS: X601s Frankenpad
There's nothing mysterious about this.
I just happened to have an X60s with a bad motherboard and a spare X61s motherboard.
What better way then to combine them and make a usable FrankenPad...
