Hi,
I finally purchased a T61 8897-CTO SXGA+ with integrated graphics, from Euclid Computers (they are really nice), it arrived last week at home, in France.
The problem is that when I had to chose the model I wanted to be sure to have a model with IWS, so I checked between 8895 and 8897. One has it while the other don't and, guess what, I order the bad one.
So I have a freshly arrived T61 8897 wich has no IWS and I wonder if there's a way to upgrade the warranty to have a French warranty for this beast.
Do you know something about this?
Regards,
Yves-Alexis

Unfortunately there is no way. The only solution lenovo suggests is:
Seems like 8897 is not eligible for IWS warranty at all.lenovo wrote:In cases where the country may not have the ability to service a particular model, service may be provided on a "best effort" basis and some fees or restrictions may apply. An alternative would be to attempt to obtain service under IWS in a neighboring country listed for the machine in question.

Yeah, that's too bad (especially since it seems there's no hardware difference, it's only a matter of price...)ryengineer wrote:Unfortunately there is no way. The only solution lenovo suggests is:
