Make your old Thinkpads have nice rubber again!

Here are the magic ingredients to make your old Thinkpad shiny and unscratched! Alcohol and a Microfiber cloth!

All you need to do is apply some alcohol to a portion of the lid and rub the microfiber cloth in FIRMLY. Make sure not to make the area you cover more than about 3" x 3" or it won't work right.

I think the results are really good for the condition the lid is in.
