Thinkpad with newer graphics recommendation
Thinkpad with newer graphics recommendation
Are there any Thinkpads with newer dedicated graphics then the T440p? I was thinking of the T450 but don't think they have quad core i7s... I think the T460/p may still be too expensive for me and the W models don't come in 14 inch... I don't like 15 inch models because I can't stand the numb pad.. are there any other models I'm missing that have newer dedicated graphics and a quad core i7?

Re: Thinkpad with newer graphics recommendation
AFAIK, no there aren't.
Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.
The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

T460p, T470p, T480 and the T480s all feature dGPUs and quad-core chips. Also, there is the X1 Extreme / P1 as a 15.6 inch machine with dedicated graphics & no numpad, but if the T460p is already too expensive, these won't be an option.
If you want more GPU performance and can't afford new T series models, maybe the cheaper E series machines might be an option. E480 combines newer quad core CPUs with the AMD Radeon RX 550 and the E485 features AMD Ryzen CPUs with integrated Vega GPUs, which are also more powerful than normal Intel HD graphics.

Re: Thinkpad with newer graphics recommendation
anything better then a GT 730M with quad core CPU is what I'm searching for as the GT 730M in my T440p is just a bit too weak even to use programs and games... even though my specs list a GTX660 and quad core cpu as recommended system specs, my system is still pushed to the max and is lagging at times (although not all the time) and it doesn't like that and I was just wanting to know if there was another option that was newer then the GT730m with a quad core CPU option... I'll go search ebay for how much I can snag a barebones T460/p or maybe some kinda E-series with a newer GPU option (although I've never bought one before) for but anything at this point that is newer in CPU then a 6th gen i7 may be in outer space for pricing for me in the next 3 years
