best browser for touch in windows 10
best browser for touch in windows 10
In your opinion what is the best web browser for touch screens on windows 10? I use Firefox on all my computers but don't think it would be a good choice for touch screen usage.. chrome is a resource hog in some ways so don't really like that and tend to stay away from it and I've never used edge so can't comment on that but what do you think is the best? looking for one that is both optimized to use with touch but still supports a mouse well.. suggestions and thoughts?

What device size? Windows 10 tablet mode is useles for devices smaller than 12", Windows 8.1 "Metro" was much better. There is no longer any good browser for small touch devices.

Edge might work but it is still far from optimal. Note that Microsoft has decided to stop development of the EdgeHTML engine and it will use the slow and resource hungry Google Chromium [censored] instead

Re: best browser for touch in windows 10
if Firefox was more touch friendly it would be the best choice... don't know if many tweeks would get it to be both mouse and touch friendly as i think I can only get it optimized for one or the other... even with like 25 tabs open (on my T440p) i'm only using 4% of the CPU and like about 3 GB ram but mum would only have like 3 tabs at most... I'm looking to get the most outta the maybe 5-7 hours battery life so edge and chrome unfortunately aren't going to be the best choice... she will mostly use meto apps in tablet mode anyways so that eliminates half of the need for the web browser but one is still needed at times

Re: best browser for touch in windows 10
Edge is the only one with smooth zoom, touch-friendly longpress menu and nice scrolling behaviour. Since 1903 update you can remove unnecesssry buttons from main bar. It is my prefered browser on slow old Miix tablet (10" screen, z3735f, 2GB).
Firefox is my main browser in general. It lacks smooth zoom. There are three necessary touchscreen tweaks:
1) Enlarge UI in appearance
2) Set scrolling behaviour in advanced config (values like velocity and gravity can be googled)
3) Hide scrollbars (there is an extension in the firefox store)
In theory the most customizable UI is offered by Vivaldi, but I haven't tried yet.

It may have to be edge for my browser of choice on the Lenovo Yoga.. i wonder if things like auto cookie removal and ad block plus work on edge since i know it supports extensions...SirionRazzer wrote:Edge is the only one with smooth zoom, touch-friendly longpress menu and nice scrolling behaviour.
