BoeHydis wasn't the first to screw up LOCA!

#1 Post by Thinkpad4by3 » Thu Apr 11, 2019 10:26 pm

Everyone remembers the loca bonded bubbles disaster of the HV121P01-101 panels. Well apparently they aren't the first to bond the glass right to the LCD, nor the first to get air bubbles in it. Apparently tubes from the 60's had this problem too...but I guess a non polarized glass surface is easier to remove loca from.

Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

The adhesive used in that video seems to be much less nasty compared to the one in the X61T screens.
