Does Thinkpad's Touchpad has water spill resistant too?

#1 Post by omnivertex » Tue Jan 01, 2013 2:24 am

Lenovo advertised their Thinkpad's keyboard as spill resistant keyboard, but how about the Touchpad? Does Thinkpad's Touchpad has water spill resistant too?

the touchpad is not spill resistant. Water can enter through the left and right click keys.
Current ThinkPad: T430u, T430s, X1 Carbon, X1, X230t, X220t, X230, X220, X201t, W520, W701ds, T500, T420 and many more

I see, that's pity. I imagined if I accidentally spilled a glass of water in front of the laptop, high chance the touchpad will get spilled too.

Don't bring any food/drink anywhere NEAR your computer, and you'll be fine.

I'm thinking that why no water-spill resistant in trackpad maybe because IBM/Lenovo think most people will not put a glass of water in front of the laptop but at the side of the laptop. The water-spill accident will mostly come at the side of the laptop.
