It is a long shot, but here it goes.
I had issues with my R61 since a long time. It's one of those Nvidia feck-ups. It already died thrice on me, but I managed to bring it back by baking it in a physics laboratory oven. The thing is that every time I do it, it gives me a little less time before it dies again. First time it was 7 months, the second – only 5-6. And now I don't expect it to last long.
I am in France and I want to buy a laptop at shop.lenovo.com (US), using Barnes and Noble Gold program. I have been trying to do it since last Xmas (as forum archives can testify), but failed. There always was something that prevented me:
I can't do it directly, because Lenovo won't ship overseas, or even accept payments from overseas (they won't even accept PayPal registered abroad – I tried).
Then there are companies like Shipito or MyUS. They charge a fee for forwarding the purchase (which is ok), but because I can't pay for it directly, they will charge additional ~10% of the laptop cost for buying it for me. That pretty much nearly kills the point of buying it in the US, especially when you add European tax on the cumulated final value.
So I thought I would ask here if someone would be able to help me out - be a middle-man, so to speak – buy the laptop (finalise the order already placed in Cart by myself), then receive it and ship it to Europe.
Finally, I would prefer if that person had some kind of established reputation here, because I would be trusting him/her with 1000 USD.
I know it's a lot to ask for, but and its a long shot, but I guess I lose nothing by trying.
