Lenovo wants to convince you that business users want touch screens on their non-tablet laptops.
Well, I guess using the keyboard isn't as fancy, so the novice might find it amazing for a while, especially if they never bothered with hotkeys.

Re: Touchscreen on conventional laptops?
I got 2 smartphones and 3 tablets that I'm constantly having to clean the screen. The phones are used for phone stuff while the tablets are consumption devices with minimal email work. My daily Thinkpad is my workhorse and is what put bread on the table. Of that the most important thing is the keyboard and touchpad/mouse. So no, I don't need to worry about screen(s) to keep clean.
Re: Touchscreen on conventional laptops?
Can't be bothered to thoroughly debunk that foreceful marketing crap, so I'll limit myself to that:
Yes, but not on notebooks. Try again.Touchscreens are fast and convenient; they are the future.
You mean once they understand to bypass the cramps they get from that crap?Once customers understand the benefits of touch-enabled notebooks, they are likely to want them.
Rotten liars. We already had to give up legacy keyboards and legacy trackpoints. They don’t have to give up anything since touch-enabled notebooks still come with a keyboard and mouse.

Re: Touchscreen on conventional laptops?
Its going to most likely happen, it will be the next selling gimmick as well. Touch laptops for this years black friday, only $200!!
There are so many people who smudge their laptops with their fingers and they aren't even touch enabled.
I don't know how and why, but they do it. So I can see why laptop manufacturers would want to sell them, its the next thing until air gestures/ leap motion becomes portable.
And once it comes to that, I can see a certain manufacturer set the standard, like touchpads.
Anyways. As a touch screen laptop that isn't a tablet?
With Windows 8 Metro GUI, I can see much more strong sales on laptops.
