T550s, when?

Hi all,

During CES 2015 earlier this year the Thinkpad T550s was announced for Q2 this year.
Any idea whn we can expect it?

I am happilly typing away right now on my 4,5 year old T510 , but it is falling apart. Litterally. So I am kind of eager to buy a new one. Preferably a bit lighter than my current machine.

There was no T550s announced at all. Only a T550. Which sounds much like what you want (a lighter, thinner 15" ThinkPad T-Series).

I took from below two links that there was a t550s coming. Although I did get the impression that the T550s might actually be another reference to the W550s.

Basically the T550 is misnamed; it's actually an s-series. They just didn't release any non-s models with Broadwell. Not sure why they bothered to add the s to the W550 when they didn't on the T550 and X250.

The T550 isn´t misnamed. Neither is the W550s or the X250.

Lenovo has changed the naming. Thin is standard now. Which is why T550, T450 and X250 don´t have the s. Thick models are now named "Txxxp". The s represents a more premium, slightly more mobile model.

W-Series is an exception, since the thick models are still standard here (and "W550p" would be kind of unneccesary...).
